Social-Media Marketing for AI Based Attention Economy
to Address Global Challenges During Geopolitical Crisis

Social-Media Marketing for AI Based Attention Economy

MSP2026 Conference

Online Conference

9-11 December, 2026

Call for Papers

When the world is experiencing geopolitical instability and ecological crisis, interconnected transitions shaped by rapid technological innovation, artificial intelligence and sustainability imperatives are reshaping communication systems, market structures, political discourse, consumer behaviours, governance mechanisms, and cultural identities.

In the contemporary attention economy, visibility, engagement, emotion, and data have become strategic assets. Social media platforms increasingly operate as infrastructures of influence where algorithmic amplification, AI-driven personalization, virality, and digital persuasion shape public opinion, consumer practices, and political realities.

At the same time, societies are confronting escalating challenges related to misinformation and disinformation, conspiracy theories, synthetic media and deepfakes, geopolitical propaganda, digital polarization, platform monopolies, social fragmentation, ecological anxiety, and crises of trust in institutions, science, media, and governance.

As societies undergo simultaneous technological and sustainability transitions, the interplay between artificial intelligence, social media ecosystems, geopolitical uncertainty, and attention economies is reshaping communication, markets, governance, and collective futures.

The rise of generative artificial intelligence and automated communication systems introduces both opportunities and risks across marketing, media, governance, sustainability communication, and democratic participation. Simultaneously, the global transition toward sustainable futures requires new forms of ethical communication, responsible innovation, digital governance, and socially resilient communication ecosystems.

This conference seeks to foster critical interdisciplinary dialogue on how digital technologies, AI systems, and platform cultures influence truth, trust, sustainability, democracy, and social transformation in an increasingly interconnected world.

The conference will critically examine the intersections of social media marketing, artificial intelligence, geopolitical crisis, conspiracy cultures, technological transition, sustainability transition, platform capitalism, attention economies, and the future of communication in digitally mediated societies.
